Food Safety
The vulnerability of 11,389 families to food crises has been reduced through the promotion of sustainable agricultural practices and the implementation of nutrition education initiatives in the municipalities of Belle Anse (southeast), Cité Soleil (west), Petit-Trou-des-Nippes, and Baradères (Nippes).
Initiative for Nature and the Optimization of Ecological and Economic Values (INOVEE)
The INOVEE project, funded with 1.5 million euros by the European Union as part of the AMCC+ program, aims to strengthen the resilience of coastal communities in the Pichon watershed to the effects of climate change. It takes an integrated approach extending from the Pichon Falls to the Lagon des Huitres National Natural Park.
The project is structured around three main pillars: ecosystem restoration, improving community livelihoods, and strengthening local governance.
It includes the distribution of equipment, training, and the construction or rehabilitation of infrastructure to benefit stakeholders in the fishing, beekeeping, and agricultural sectors.
Following the earthquake that struck the Nippes department in Haiti, AHAAMES and Malteser International Americas launched a project aimed at strengthening food security and the resilience of the most vulnerable communities. This project aims to improve the resilience of poor and vulnerable communities in terms of food security and climate change adaptation in three municipalities in the Nippes department. Funded by the BMZ and the ADH, it will benefit 4,490 households over a four-year period (from December 2023 to November 2026).
